The History of RussianRiverTravel.com

The RussianRiverTravel.com idea was created in 2001 by Tao Klauenburch while doing marketing at River Village Resort & Spa in Guerneville.

As a local of 29 years, Tao knew back then that the area had more to offer than was being shared with visitors. There needed to be a central, trusted website that showed the best of the area, got people excited, and brought in more business.

The site started as a part-time project and began to grow. In 2003 RussianRiverTravel.com became a full-time job going from 12 pages to now over 460 pages while becoming northwest Sonoma County’s primary and most useful resource for visitor’s planning their trips.

Cielo Projects also runs the online indoor gardening hydroponic oriented website Greners.com.
