Each year RussianRiverTravel.com calculates its contribution of greenhouse gases
and pays for the elimination of that amount. This is through the main carbon trading
organization - www.carbonfund.org. Their website has tools for calculating your
emissions and determining the offset. It is easy, effective and affordable. Project
examples include the removal of methane from the atmosphere and the funding of
wind power.

Zero Paper Product Consumption
For every pound of paper RussianRiverTravel.com uses, we pay for the planting
or protection of a corresponding amount of trees. This is a less developed field
then carbon-trading so we go with a shotgun approach. We do this through two organizations,
The Nature Conservatory (Adopt an Acre Program) and The National Arbor Day Foundation
(Rain Forest Rescue Program). Their programs let us offset our impact on biodiversity,
carbon storage, and weather cycles.

Organize With Local Leaders
RussianRiverTravel.com works with local businesses and organizations to help them
adopt climate security friendly practices and create a national impact. We would
like to share our experience taking on leadership and responsible business. Consider
joining the Sonoma County climate security leadership program.

Support National Action
If the world’s environment is not protected it will be no consolation that
our businesses did not contribute to the problem. The goal of all RussianRiverTravel.com
climate security actions are to contribute to building national consensus and
momentum so that laws can be passed to secure the wealth and freedom of our country.

stabilize the world’s climate.
